Principal Advisor and Co-Founder at Maco.la
Sheri Kaiserman is a Principal Advisor and Co-Founder of Maco.la. Maco.la was formed to help support the growing blockchain ecosystem in three complementary ways: investing in companies which enable others to adopt blockchain solutions, as well as those exploiting blockchain technology to deliver new business models; an advisory business focused on accelerating their portfolio companies and assisting established enterprises and governmental agencies in understanding and navigating the use possibilities of digital ledger technology; and lastly, providing retained search for the industry’s growing scarcity of related talent resources.
Prior to co-founding Maco.la, Sheri had a successful 28-year career on Wall Street at two firms: ten years as an Institutional Equity Research Salesperson at Oppenheimer, and 18 years at Wedbush in which she spent 16 of them building and running the Equities Division. As an innovative leader, she created new franchises for the firm including the Retail Specialist Group, The Private Company Strategies Group, and in 2013, led the way for Wedbush to become the first Wall Street firm to publish research on the topic of bitcoin and blockchain. In 2014, Sheri began leading the firm’s investments in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
Sheri was awarded the “Achievement in Innovation Award” from Markets Media’s Markets Choice Awards: Women in Finance in November 2016; the “Excellence in Leadership” award from Trader Magazine in 2012; was a top 10 finalist “Executive of the Year” nominee at the 2010 Los Angeles Business Journal sponsored event, “Women Making a Difference”; and has been a guest on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street.
Sheri is a member of the advisory board of healthcare technology company, 4C Health Solutions, since Jan 2016. She served for 7 years as a board member for Friends of Palms, the primary parent fundraising organization for Palms Middle School, has been a leader for community outreach for Hamilton High School and serves as a national judge for InvestWrite, a national writing competition sponsored by the SIFMA Foundation for students in 4th through 12th grade.
Sheri has a BA in History from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Raised in the Bronx, New York, she moved to California in 1989. Sheri currently lives in Cheviot Hills, California and is married with 3 children.
